This 1910 is a neat census. Warren, his brother William, and their father are all living in the same area and are all farmers. The first entry is Wm. D Streeter 27. William’s wife Lora 23, and daughter Ester L. 2, are listed below him. Next door to William is Warren 29, with wife Bessie 20, and son Ira 1 year old. Next door to Warren is his father Ira 61, with his stepmother Nannie 50, and half brothers Fredrick 18, and Arthur 13. Claude 20, has a different Father who was from Iowa and his Mother is Nannie. In this 1920 Census, the Streeters are living in School District 37, Teton Co., Montana. The family moved closer to Bessie’s family the McFarlane’s. Another familiar neighbor was the Odells. Warren is working as a farmer.

Sadly on September 11, 1921, Warren lost his 2-year battle with Locomotor Ataxia and Syphilis. According to Wikipedia, People afflicted with this disease may walk in a jerky, non-fluid manner. They will not know where their arms and legs are without looking (i.e. a failure of proprioception) but can, for instance, feel and locate a hot object placed against their feet. It is often a symptom of tabes dorsalis, which is a key finding in tertiary syphilis. It is caused by degeneration of the posterior (dorsal) white column of the spinal cord.

This left Bessie a widow at 31 years old with 6 children.

~~~~~
On March 8, 1928, Bessie married Charles Edward Livingston in Belle Fourche, South Dakota. Charles was also widowed. Charles had been married twice before and had 5 children.
Charles & Bessie Livingston
~~1930~~
The family is living in Granger, Harding Co., South Dakota. I think Charles filled out this census because everyone is listed as Livingston, and he was their father, not stepfather. Warren was born in Kansas and not Missouri. Bessie gave birth to Charles Jr a couple months after this, and that is why he is not listed.
~~~~~

On October 3, 1930, Fern married Raymond Miles in Belle Fourche, Butte Co., South Dakota.

~~~~~
On December 19, 1930, Velma married George Edmund Burke in Belle Fourche, Butte County, South Dakota.
~~~~~

In 1940 the family is living in Township 20, Harding Co., South Dakota. In this census, Earnest and Charles are living at home. Earnest is a laborer on the farm. Fern and her children had just moved in with her mother and stepfather. Fern was living in Newell, Butte Co. I think she moved in with them while her husband was in the Army.

~~~~~
Earnest died sadly young when he was pinned by his fuel truck in a rollover accident. He was only 24 years old. He is buried in the Fairview Cemetery in Camp Crook, Harding Co., South Dakota.
~~1950~~
In this 1950 Census, Charles and Bessie lived next door to Clyde & Vivian Streeter and Martin & Olive Anderson. Charles Sr was 80 years old and still working about 50 hours a week as a farmer along with his son Charles Jr. 19 years old. Bessie was 60 and a homemaker. Clyde and Martin were also farming, working 50 hours a week. In 1950, Clyde & Vivian had 5 boys, and Martin & Olive had 2 girls and 2 boys.
